Returns and Refunds policy

We’re a small, bespoke manufacturer. Every PCB module is flashed and function-tested before shipping. Even so, rare DOA (dead on arrival) cases can happen—we’ll look after you when they do. At the same time, we need a policy that protects our ability to keep serving the community.

How to start a return

  • Email info@hackitsune.com with your order number, a short note on the issue, and photos/video if something’s wrong.

  • We’ll reply with an RMA, return instructions, and the return address.

  • Please don’t send items back without an RMA.

What’s covered (and when)

  1. DOA / damaged on arrival (we’ll help)
    • Tell us within 30 days of delivery.

    • Include a brief description + photos/video.

    • We’ll troubleshoot fast and, at our discretion, replace, repair, or refund.

    • If confirmed DOA or carrier damage, we usually cover return shipping, or may waive the return.

Change of mind / ordered the wrong thing (grace period)

  • Request within 7 days of delivery.

  • Item must be unused, in original condition, with original packaging and all parts.

  • Unopened items: full refund once inspected.

  • Opened packaging or missing parts: up to 20% restocking fee may apply.

  • Customer pays return shipping (unless it was our error).

Cancellations

  • If your order hasn’t shipped, we can cancel for a full refund.

  • If it’s shipped, use the return process above.

Proof of purchase (order number or receipt) is required for all returns.

Electronics specifics (important)

To qualify for return, boards must be unused and unmodified:

  • No soldering or rework, no cut/bent leads, no scraped pads.

  • No enclosure mods or missing accessories.

  • No firmware flashing unless we asked you to during support.

  • Handle with ESD care and within rated voltage/current/temperature.

Misuse or damage—reverse polarity, over-voltage, ESD events, excessive heat, mechanical stress, incorrect wiring, or flashing incompatible firmware—can cause permanent damage and is not returnable/replaceable.

Items we can’t take back

  • Gift cards and digital downloads (software/design files).

  • Customized/personalized or made-to-order items.

  • Single-use consumables (e.g., thermal pads once installed, pre-applied adhesives).

  • Items damaged after delivery due to misuse or modification.

  • Sale/clearance items.

  • Shipping charges (non-refundable unless it was our error).

If you’re unsure, email us before you ship—we’ll advise.

Refund timing

  • We’ll email you when your return is received and inspected, and confirm approval/denial.

  • Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within ~10 business days.

  • Your bank/card may take 3–7 business days to post.

  • If it’s been 15+ business days since approval with no refund showing, email us.

EU customers — 14-day cooling-off

If your order ships to the European Union, you can cancel within 14 days of delivery for any reason.

  • Return goods within 14 days of telling us you’re cancelling.

  • Items must be in original condition; refunds can be reduced for diminished value from handling beyond what’s needed to check the goods.

  • We’ll refund the item price (and the standard outbound shipping if you return the entire order).

  • Unless we agree otherwise, you pay return shipping.

  • Restocking fee (up to 20%) may apply to opened/handled items, incomplete returns, or returns requiring repack/inspection.

Shipping your return

  • Use a trackable service and pack well.

  • Unless we say otherwise (e.g., confirmed DOA/our error), you cover return shipping.

  • We’re not responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit.
